[Auckland, 8th August 2024] – Hectre, a trailblazer in orchard management and precision farming solutions, proudly announces the appointment of Simona Turin and Andrew Garner to its Board of Directors.
Turin’s vast experience in SaaS and her strategic leadership will significantly bolster Hectre’s mission to innovate and enhance agricultural technology.
Simona Turin brings a rich background in SaaS, having held key leadership positions at companies like AskNicely, where she was instrumental in powering world-class customer experiences. Her expertise in driving digital transformation and technology innovation is well-recognized in the industry.
“We are thrilled to welcome Simona Turin to our Board,” said Matty Blomfield, CEO of Hectre. “Her extensive experience in SaaS and her strategic insights will be invaluable as we continue to develop innovative technology for the fresh produce sector.”
In addition to her SaaS accomplishments, Turin has 15 years of experience on Wall Street, providing her with a unique perspective on financial markets and strategic growth. Her comprehensive understanding of both technology and finance makes her an exceptional addition to Hectre’s leadership team.
“I am excited to join Hectre’s Board of Directors,” said Simona Turin. “Hectre’s commitment to transforming agriculture through technology aligns perfectly with my passion for innovation. I look forward to contributing to the company’s vision and success.”
Andrew Garner joins the Hectre board from a long career in Europe, both as a senior business leader, entrepreneur and investor. His experience includes working with a UK VC fund backed by Warburg Pincus, a PE firm with $120B worth of investments. During this time, he also led one of the fund’s Silicon Valley based portfolio companies until a subsequent M&A.
“We are excited to have Andrew Garner join our Board,” said Matty Blomfield, CEO of Hectre. “His extensive experience in Europe in M&A, building multiple businesses and selling high value services will support us as we mature as a business and expand our commercial activities.”
Whilst mostly based in Denmark and the UK for the last 30 years, ex McKinsey & Company with extensive M&A experience, Andrew has worked across all of Europe and has a deep understanding of how business is done across the many countries. Hectre will leverage this experience to accelerate our commercial efforts in what is on track to be Hectre’s largest market alongside the US.
“The opportunity Hectre is creating is just beginning and I’m excited to be able to play my part in ensuring we build a great global business that is both scalable and sustainable,” said Andrew Garner. “I’m looking forward to joining the Board.”
Turin and Garner’s appointments come as Hectre continues to expand its impact globally, with the goal of reducing food loss and increasing returns to growers.
We also acknowledge and would like to thank exiting Director Alan Timms, who supported our growth since 2018. Timms brought significant industry experience and helped Hectre get to where we are today.
